My interests in life I topic #2

I believe that everyone has different field interests. Everyone has different color types of interest. “Hard work without interest is success without satisfaction”. Interest is very important in our life.
My interests are about languages and disaster management.

Talking about language is that the primary purpose of language is to facilitate communication, in the sense of transmission of information from one person to another people. Actually, there are some benefits to people who study a new language.

1. The study of language brings us into contact with people and cultures that are very different from our own, and in a way that encourages respect for diversity. Having language skill gives us a deep understanding of people’s attention and contribute to empathy and tolerance towards diverse peoples in new people that we meet.

2. Learning of new foreign languages can enhance our brain function for example listening skills and memory of the brain. Besides, it increases our analytical abilities, and also builds analytical in problem-solving because we think more critically and think fast with the concepts. Practice in language gains improvement, and creativity will grow.

3. The study of a new foreign language is able to achieve many advantages in the professional world. For instance, Job vacancies who are proficient in more than one language are extremely valuable nowadays.

My second interest is disaster management. Because I visited Japan 2 times in 2015 and 2018. Accidently, it was a coincidence that I took about disaster management discussion. As we know that Japan is well known as a place that is frequently hit by earthquakes and tsunamis. The reason why I chose this topic is that I live in Aceh, Indonesia that a prone area to disasters; tsunami and earthquake. Because of these reasons, I wanted to learn more about disasters. Once in my area terribly hit by tsunami and earthquake so that disaster management is important to be learned because it aims to ensure an effective and coordinated response to save people's lives and reduce the impact of crises on affected among communities. Basically, disaster management is fundamental effectual assistance to people not get hit by disaster. While we know disaster management, definitely there is no disaster risk that will occur. Having strong disaster management among people improves an emergency response. As we know that based on statistics, Indonesia is one of the highest rates countries of natural disasters in the world. Because Indonesia is an archipelagic nation made up of 17,000 islands and also Indonesia is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area in the Pacific Ocean where many active volcanoes are found, it is the same as Japan.

That is why I as Indonesian citizens need to be aware of disasters surrounding us. Because of the reasons above, I trigger to study at the Disaster Science Department of Syiah Kuala University to increase my knowledge and share my experience of how to deal with the disaster.
