3 Insane (But True) Things About Steemit

1)Upvoting has limitation

Unlike facebook you can click “likes” as many as you can as you found posts interesting. Here on steemit your “upvotes” are not unlimited. You can upvote many times but every time you upvote your voting power decreases so it will not help the post you upvoted in getting awards all the time (unless you have a very high steem power like @jerrybanfield, @ned or @donkeypong). Your voting power decreases 2% each time you upvote. It will recharge at a rate of 20% after 24 hours. 10 upvotes per day is the advisable that you can do per day. If you have a $100 Steem Power your upvote reward is is about $0.01. If you have a $1000 Steem Power your upvote reward is is about $0.10.

When you upvoted a post within 15 minutes the author will receive 99% of the upvote rewards points. When you upvoted a post within 15-30 minutes after posting you share 50/50 from the author. When you upvoted a post after 30 minutes it was posted you share 99% of the curations to the other curators. Again, you only make a curation reward based on the Steem Power that you have and it also depends on the percentage of your Voting Power.

2)Upvoting Bots are not always helpful

If you're new on steemit your "Introduction Post" will surely get a lot of upvotes especially when you have the good content and you didn't hide your identity. But your following posts will surely get fewer upvotes! Why? As a noob on steemit it's hard to get followers from your introduction post (unless you're a well-known person). In order to get followers you need to be consistent on posting with good content and you need to interact with other users by commenting and upvoting others' posts. It will take a lot of time and effort for sure. If you have money and you wanted to cut short the time and effort to get followers and upvotes I suggest you should invest and use the Upvoting Bots. But like I've mention it's not always helpful. So the choice is yours. Using it have "Advantages" and "Disadvantages". See the details below:

Advantages

-You will surely get an upvote rewards from the bot itself
-Your post will get more visibility
-If you have the good content real people will upvote your post and also follow you
-It will shorten the time of getting high Steem Power and having more followers

Disadvantages

-Bots don't care if the post has a good quality or not
-Bots may overflow the platform and reduce interaction of real people
-Some bots don't refund money if there's a mistake on the transaction
-Lastly, the money you sent to the bots is not always giving back the equal or higher amount of upvote value, mostly it is lower than the amount you paid (unless the total bids was very low compared to the upvote value of the bot) (see the picture below)

3)Begging for follow and upvotes is not effective

Probably most of us already experience to have a comment from someone telling they will follow and upvote our post as long as we will do the same. Most people who are asking for follow to follow or upvote for upvote really don’t care on our posts. Even these kinds of people don’t produce good content because their mindset is to get followers and upvotes instantly. For me it may somehow help you get followers and upvotes, but I don’t see any great benefits in the long run. If you will follow these kinds of people your feed will be flooded of posts with low quality. Also these people have low reputation scores due to flags they are getting by spamming people. The bad impact of this is that good steemians will not follow you if they see the people you are following and the people who follows you are worthless. So it’s like you’re repelling the good people on the platform. Even myself, before I follow someone I check first their posts if it's interesting to me and also check the people they are following before I follow them. So people of the world, please! Let’s make this platform better. Do not tolerate the follow to follow and upvote for upvote to grow.
