The 63-year-old Nishino boasts his achievements as a planner behind one of Japan's most proud moments when Japan defeated Brazil, reinforced by Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos 1-0 at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Nishino has only 70 days to train the Blue Samurai team before they advance to their first match against Colombia in the tough World Cup qualifying group, alongside Poland and Senegal.
