Wondrous Child

The Wondrous Child conveys promise and the rekindling of hope and trust in the future. In Irish legend, the wondrous child is Cu Chulainn. As a boy of seven, he was already the greatest combatant in the court of the king, Conor Mac Nessa, and he grows up to defend all of Ulster single-handedly. Taliesin, the great bard of Wales, is another wondrous child. Too often in our modern society do we find out we're going to be parents and immediately begin charting out our child's entire life. "Oh they will go to this University", and "Yeah, he will like this team", and "Let's get her baptized right after she is born." And then you have your precious baby and immediately begin to condition them into your perception of the world. They immediately go in to conditioning environments where religions, personal beliefs, habits, and biased information is shoved into their brains until they are at maximum capacity and can't determine fact from opinion. The child is never given a chance to trust in themselves and develop their own sense of self.

Don't get me wrong, it is perfectly fine to want and to wish things for your kids, but think about it for a moment. If you had a say in the way you were raised, would a lot of things been different? Would your parents have treated you differently? Would you have grown up more confident or weak if you had a say in your raising? If you are someone that is sitting here like "nah my parents were great they did an awesome job I couldn't have done any better"...that is awesome and I'm happy for you and your parents win all the prizes. But let me tell you, there are people out there (like me) that if they had a say in their raising they probably would have turned out without so many anxious and depressive tendencies.

Too often in our modern society do we "hush" our children, too often do we dismiss what it is that they have to say making them feel like they are to be seen and not heard. They get conditioned on what to think rather than how to think all while their brains are still developing. Their beautiful minds have such cosmic wisdom straight from Source, it is a shame to taint it. The wondrous child calls us to trust that our intuition is correct. We can be the generation that raises our children without conditioning them to society, instead raise them to condition society to them. We are seeing more and more unique generations brought to us.

Maybe our modern society has it all wrong. If you look back on any ancient civilization the children always spent their time with the Elders of the village. They did this because of the closeness to the ether on both sides. Children having just emerged from Source and the elders entering back into it. The elders would observe the children to find something they had a natural calling to and when the child could see what their destiny was the elders would help train them in any way they could to further develop the child's skill and talent.

It is time to shift out of #survivalmode and jump into #thrivemode and we start with our wondrous children. We cannot go anywhere as a Human Race until we put our Hope and our Trust into the Future, and our future is right in front of us, barely 3 feet tall, with bed head still but eyes full of wonder. I think we drew this oracle to remind ourselves that we all start out as children and we are all still a child at heart.

If You Are Drawn to This Oracle...

You are urged to cherish and develop a talent or skill that is latent within yourself or in someone you love. It may be a child, a friend, a partner, or even a teacher. Whether you need to attend to yourself or someone else, the talent in question is extraordinary in some unique way. If the talent is within you, you will need to create an environment that allows for long stretches of unencumbered time to practice or cultivate the essential skills. Garnering unencumbered time in modern life may require major reordering of priorities. If you are in a role of supporting another, you are in the role of an assistant and supporter who makes time and more supportive environments possible. Either way, you are a great encourager of self or another. New life in all forms is invariably innocent, potential, and incomplete. The role of encouraging, supporting, and providing safety are essential to its secure development.
