STEEM ON! :)

Sort:

Ok -3 answers to two questions!

  1. People leaving due to the fact they are not aware what is going on

  2. Lack of engagement and interaction

  3. Improve internal communications, telling user clearly what to expect e.g. reward pool questions, rebranding, strategic plans, update on communities etc.

Yeah ! More communication from Steemit Inc. would be appreciate. I guess it's a part of the witness job.

i do not know if it is the job of witness - there is a INC -sure the new marketing people will help as much as the can! The are good folks! But also they have to work within a company environment

I can't beat that!

You've said it very well!

Thanks mate! Appreciate your feedback @papa-pepper - I notice we have not interacted enough here on steemit

You really can't!

Lol, especially without trying!

Ding! Ding seems like a winner already!

Hope we all will be winners - glad i am on vacation for two weeks soon - so i might come back and all is terrific! wishful thinking

Great answers!

People leaving due to the fact they are not aware what is going on.

I do agree there is a lack of understanding where things are going.

Lack of engagement and interaction

This is of concern for sure. Lack of engagement and interaction is a cause for concern.

Improve internal communications, telling user clearly what to expect e.g. reward pool questions, rebranding, strategic plans, update on communities etc.

I do think this will get better over time. I believe the SteemIt Marketing team will get this sorted out.

Thanks for the reply so we agree, also am sure the new marketing people will help a lot

Hurt SteemIt? How about another "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKERS!"

Help SteemIt? Some communication/explanations/involve the community, would help.

An interesting question ! I think that we have to watch the distribution of the reward pool. I'm not a Steem expert (yet :p ), but I can see somes important issues in the protocol. Of course we still in beta mod so it's normal. We have to be patient and alert to make the protocol AND the community mature.

One of the most important issue I see is the fact that the (steem) power can be centralized in the hands of the richest of the community. Actually we are like a little familly, there is no (or almost) bad whales, but imagine if someone like Trump or a big bankster come in and decide to become a dictator ? With just a single 100% upvote this person could drain the totality of the reward pool ! I believe in the fact that the community can self-regulate the distribution, but actually it look like there is a big open door for mafia... When Steem will attract a lot a people the richest risk to be interested and we have to be careful.

I don't know what kind of solution could be implement, we should think about it all together.

Amazing post @soushi888!

Distribution reward pool is key to watch. You'll become an expert! ;-) Great answers!

You nailed it! This is the biggest issue right now. There is constantly a lot of talk at SteemSpeak regarding all this. There could be some big actors that do show up. Sooooo true!

I should take a look to SteemSpeak ! It's on Discord ?

Yes you shall! :)
Come on over.

1- Powering down by people who have a lot of Steem leading to a downward spiral in price, lower reward payouts and people deciding to leave Steem, in fact a lot of people are leaving because of low rewards already.

2- Make sure that articles are rewarded according to their merit this is difficult but I think I can see if an author has put in effort in his work and even if I disagree with whatever he thinks I wouldn't doubt in upvoting just based on his effort, like also I don't upvote someone who just posts a link or a Youtube video, also regulate flagging nobody likes to see their work downvoted and thier payout decrease just because someone doesn't agree with their views or worse yet because there is a whale war or "experiment" going on.

People curating posts based on payout potential, rather than quality of the post. How to fix it? Ummmm....

This is a good point. The mindset is hard to fix + not sure if there is a solution.
