Steemit Statistics: Results of 2017. Part #3 - Number of registered accounts 2016 vs 2017
Aloha, Steemers. This is the third post from the series “Steemit Statistics: Results of 2017”. In that part we will look at some numbers about new accounts registration in 2017 and compare it with 2016.
New accounts (total): 2016 vs 2017
123319 accounts were registered on Steemit in 2016 (the project started on March 2016). And we have a very nice +340% growth in 2017 that results in 421380 new accounts.

June 2017 and December 2017 were the most productive months: 64802 and 73793 new accounts registered.
Some sad stats
We've got 421380 new accounts in 2017. This is a very nice result. But let's see how many accounts registered in 2017 made at least 1 post or 1 comment: only 202211 from 421380. Something about 48%...
And how many new accounts made at least 5 posts or comments? The number is even less - only 113620 accounts (27%):
What about 30 posts/comments? Just 49147 accounts and 11.7%:
As you can see we have a lot of new users, but most part of them are "dead" accounts. Hope things will change in 2018!
