Ode to the Highs and Lows of steemit

This week has been a new kind of rollercoaster in the crypto environment. From the speculations on the #Bitcoin halving, the #Ethereum hardfork fiasco, and WOW my introduction to steemit. Let's be clear, by introduction i mean actually signing up and creating an account because i had been hearing about it for weeks just hadn't made it over. but when i did! BOOM, just like that steem dollars started to come into my wallet. Is this some sort of New Age internet magic?
I can't find another suitable explanation. We ARE in a new digital age.
Of course my initial excitement was crippled for a short time by the announcement of the hack on the steemit.com website and just like that much of my newly found joy and excitement about cryptocurrencies was questioned.
But thanks to the #steemit team, that has been so upfront about what is going on and how it will be handling the issue, not to mention the site being up and running again, has boasted by confidence on this platform.
