Thanks, edited to remove message, since I worked it out. Anyone else stuck as I was, look at my reply to another person on this page,having the same problem

@matt-a - it is so nice to have one more person on Steemit for me to consider a 'nice' person.

    Those are public keys, those aren't password.

    Go to steemit.com, log into your account, then look at your wallet transfers. You will see the username and password.

    Once you get that, log into the @poet.byron account on steemit.com and then select this:

    Then follow the instructions.

    The problem was I was using my own browser, which stores the Posting key. Now I'm doing it directly on the pc of my friend.
