Pencil on Paper

when I feel bored at home , all I do is get my pencils and paper together so as to bring a desired drawing to life with my pencils .....
Here is a start to finish pencil drawkng of one Americans' best music artist ( Rihanna ) I did some time ago.

I started this drawing with a sketch using a normal HB pencil on paper in which the reference photo was by my side as a guideline. When the sketch was completed i took some minutes to observe and made sure it was perfect before I could go ahead with the shading process ,I began immediatly.... I completed the whole face some hours after .. For the shading process ,I started by shading the required area first of all with a pencil (2B pencil ) and then I used dry brush with charcoal dust to blend the shaded area well before moving to the next area.

When the face of the drawing was completed , I immediatly went into the hair so as to add more beauty and finished look to the drawing .... I made use of just Soft Generals Charcoal pencil for the hair so as to achieve the desired dark tone for the hair.

Working on the hair didn't take much time compered to working on the face ..why? Because the face is one of the most important part of any portrait and any little mistake could change the person's face so therefore it requires more time and effort.

When the hair was completed there wasnt much left for me to do as I was 89% done with the portrait and i was left with the remaining part of the body and the background which I finally completed at the end of the day...
