Off-topic question: What program did you use to compress this image, I downloaded and it came out at 115kb, and why is it saved a .GIF?

Thanks, I'm curious about image loading times and saw this nice infographic, so - uh - yeah!

    A jpg version saved from photoshop would have added 110 k - and ugly compression artifacts. Gif was the obvious choice.
