Update on 4 things you can do right now to boost the value of STEEM!
Almost a month ago I posted about how you can take 4 simple steps to boost the value of STEEM. This centred on our rankings for Community and Public Interest in CoinGecko's crypto ranking charts.
In part this stemmed from CoinGecko using less a followed steem twitter account, and the Alexa ranking for steem.io rather than steemit.com. Also they seemed to be missing some stats for STEEM that they had for STEEM DOLLARS.
I actually took matters into my own hands and wrote to CoinGecko about the issue. I have just heard back from them and they say I have a point and we should see the updated stats within a few days!
Will an increase in our ranking on CoinGecko lead to greater prestige and increased demand? I for one suspect it will...

It can be hard to know what impact it will have in the short term, as short term fluctuations can be influenced by many factors. But in the long term it will surely increase visibility and confidence in this blockchain, perhaps helping to push it beyond certain psychological barriers.
As pointed out previously, STEEM and SBD already command ranks 6 and 7 in the 'Developer' column of the chart, with an 85% ranking. STEEM itself current has 0% for 'Community' because it is lacking data, but even if they used the same erroneous data they have for SBD it would only get 37%. Once they use the correct data this should be much higher. Until the chart is updated it will be hard to know for sure by how much, but by way of comparison, IOTA, currently number 5 for 'Community' has a twitter following of less than 8700. On twitter steemit has a following of 23700.
Meanwhile the 'Public Interest' column ranks steem by the alexa ranking for 'http://steem.io', which is the 67,000th most visited website. Once they've updated it to use 'https://steemit.com' it will jump up to 2700th place. Even bitcoin is only ranked 5300th on Alexa, putting steem well ahead of the competition for that variable. The column also takes into account bing search ranking, so steem won't be number 1, but we will make significant gains.
