RE: Eight Reflections on: To Upvote or Not to Upvote? Is that the question? And Should I Take the Time to Comment?
lol, I haven't seen that happen yet. The only time I could see where it would be appropriate is if the comment is in opposition to an article I disagreed with strongly enough to not upvote. Well, the other would be when an article already is making a nice payout, so I didn't add to it. But with the sliding scale now, perhaps just doing it at like 5% because the added vote weight can help with momentum would be a good idea. See, you just provoked a new thought for me. Thanks!!
Yea that would make sense if it was a comment in opposition. But strangely I've only ever seen it happen with positive comments.
It happened once on one of my articles. The article itself only made about 15 cents but there was a 1 dollar comment. I once saw a $50 comment on a post that had only made $2 or $3, and that was a positive comment too. Strange.
And I'm always happy to provoke some thoughts!
