Honestly, everything at the moment now is just pure speculative activity. We don't know who will eventually win: ETH or EOS. The best way to "win" is to invest in both or don't invest at all. Time will tell.

If you invest in both - win on one and lose on the other - you haven't won.. There is a reason why BTC and ETH are the top coins and its not simply speculation. EOS needs time to mature, "prove its worth" and "find its price" - is it going to raise 30 billion and overtake Ethereum ? I doubt it.
well, you need to understand that there's a spread between the two and they are not entirely and perfectly correlated. Like you mention, you "win" one and "lose" one. However, if you "win" more than than you "lose," you still win.

If they solve the problem with the scalability, the sky is the limit! ETH is still on one chain and slow already. Read @dan 's latest post about it https://steemit.com/eos/@dan/eos-developer-s-log-stardate-20176-30 they doing thousands of transaction per second already!
He's an excellent developer - I don't think anyone doubts that.. He probably dreams in C++ ;)
