Nintendo is not strange in dealing with new technologies, and had to go a long way before achieving a system as functional as the Wii was, but long before we have the Wii remote in our homes and enjoy in the Wii sport in out living room, nintendo launched for the SNES system the peripheral; Batter Up!

The Batter Up!, made by Sport Sciences, is a baseball bat controller that worked for all Snes baseball games, the "electronic" baseball bat it was shaped as a 24-inch bat surrounded by blue rubber. It work was to responds to the user's movements, the truth is very similar to the Wii remote that we would not see until 2006, also it had a D-pack and other bottles so it worked as normal control pad.

Eventually, there are also versions for the Sega Genesis and the PC also owned by Nintendo, and comes in the trademark Snes style red and black box. Sport Sciences went out of business less than two years after this was released, what gives the peripheral the category of extremely rare.
