Warga Minta Ganti Rugi Penangkapan Buaya 600 Kg di Aceh Timur
Aceh - Buaya muara yang ditangkap warga di wilayah Desa Lhok Seutang, Kecamatan Julok, Aceh Timur, hingga pagi ini belum bisa dievakuasi oleh pihak BKSDA Aceh. Warga ternyata meminta uang kompensasi.
Warga meminta ganti biaya penangkapan, sedangkan kita tidak bisa menyediakan pendanaan itu, kata Kepala BKSDA Aceh, Sapto Aji Prabowo, saat dimintai konfirmasi oleh detikcom, Rabu (14/2/2018) .
Saat ditanya soal uang kompensasi yang diminta warga atas buaya muara yang panjangnya 4,80 meter, lebar 60 cm, dan bobot 600 kg itu, Sapto mengaku tidak tahu.
Kita tidak bisa menyediakan pendanaan itu, karena nanti bisa jadi preseden ke depan, nanti orang nangkap minta ganti rugi, ucapnya.
Kita tidak mau menanyakan juga (soal uang kompensasi, red). Karena di mana pun sebenarnya tidak boleh memberikan hal seperti itu, sambungnya. Dia mengatakan buaya muara termasuk hewan dilindungi sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 5 tentang Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Hayati dan Ekosistemnya dan lampiran PP Nomor 7 Tahun 1999.
Sapto menambahkan saat ini petugas BKSDA Aceh di lokasi sedang berupaya persuasif agar warga mau menyerahkan buaya tersebut secara sukarela untuk dievakuasi. Pihak kepolisian setempat juga membantu.
Mudah-mudahan hari ini bisa mereka mau menyerahkan secara sukarela. Polisi sudah mengimbau juga. Saya sudah perintahkan anggota jangan represif. Kita ajak warga bicara, ucapnya.
Warga menangkap buaya muara betina ini di wilayah Kwala Malehan, terusan Sungai Arakundo, menggunakan jaring pada Selasa (13/2). Warga resah karena buaya ini beberapa kali menampakkan diri sehingga ditakutkan akan ada warga yang menjadi mangsa.
Warga usai penangkapan sebelumnya menyebut buaya muara betina ini berukuran sekitar 5 meter dan bobotnya 1 ton. Pihak BKSDA Aceh kemudian melakukan pengukuran. Hasilnya, buaya ini panjangnya 4,80 meter, berat 600 kg dan lebar 60 cm. Buaya ini diperkirakan berumur 70 tahun dan sebagian giginya sudah rontok.
