I recently in my curation endeavor came across a post made by @chitty about 4 months ago, describing how steem price would go to the moon and reward all current users after velocity implementation.

Steemit is still in beta mode as we all know. I read that, at first new steem were distributed exponentially due to the amount of steem power one held. Then later became directly related to the amount of steem power - linear relationship.

Now hard fork 0.20.0 is going to give a different perspective. This is how @fyrstikken summarize these hard forks and those yet to come. Pretty amazing and easy to grasp

After velocity is implemented, the price of steemit will be directly correlated with the growth, as users sign up to the platform steem would be bunt and the supply will be reduced each time, making steem more scarce and thus more valuable. By effectively reducing the demand and, the price of steem should see a drastic increase to unseen levels

Steemit has endured numerous hard forks without creating any major split, and each comes with a perspective to solve or address issues.
As we move along we would discover more hitches and as we still utilize steemit, solutions would be found.
