    It gets increased each day by a certain amount around 48k STEEM. The system generates it.

      Hello @anaman everyday there is around 45,000 to 50,000 Steem created by steemit automatically by the program and a percentage of that goes into the rewards pool to pay Authors and Curators . So the pool has Steem going into and out of the pool everyday.
