Wow, ever since I joined steemit in July this year, I've thought about this and I alway tell new people I bring on steemit;

All other social media would join or adapt steemit OR all the people on those platforms would leave and join steemit

Just this evening, I saw a post from Ned Scott and I started to beam with smiles. Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) which has been under development for quite some time, would finally be released in 2018.

This is going to give website owners the ability to launch, use and sell certain tokens, which are going to be distributed by “upvote” and “like”-based algorithms, so literally, the are assimilating the steemit platform.

Any website that launches an SMTs shall :

*Enjoy a blockchain ecosystem built with an inbuilt decentralized exchange*

*An ecosystem of open-source applications*

*Libraries to support deployment, integration, fundraising and growth*

I think being on steemit early enough is going to make us whales of all other token generated platforms

It's going to be like bitcoins (steem) vrs alt coins (tokens)

And it's going to create a whole new equation foreco of social media, where only Steemian are experts
