I've thought a lot about the idea of living in an RV or van. Right now I have too much stuff, but that's something that can be changed if I did decide to be a nomad. I am a bit hooked on the government teat because I live on social security, but that wouldn't affect a nomadic lifestyle.
Social Security isn't "Hooked on the Government Teat", it's merely getting back SOME of the money that's been taken from you (At gunpoint) over all the years you worked.
