Steemit or GoFundMe (weird similarities)

in #steemit10 years ago

I have been posting on here for a few days now and I am starting to understand the money aspect of this a little more. I also have noticed that a lot of the higher voted posts are those of people either developing something or they have an idea to spread the news of steemit. With this funding you are giving these people who have these ideas, is there anyway to know if your investment will return anything to you.

Don't get me wrong, but I thought this was a site for Content, not development ideas. I know these individuals have great ideas and have put a lot of work into presenting their product/idea to us, but how do you know that giving them all of this money, they are actually going to do what they say they are. I have wrote a few articles now on Genuine people and spotting those who wish to exploit the system, but wouldn't it be a good idea to fund things that already have financial backing.

Maybe I am wrong and I am stepping out of line, but I feel people are being to loose with their money on here. I am not a Big fish on here, but wanted to voice my opinion/

I am not trying to offend anyone, just trying to understand the logic behind funding Ghost projects .

I am also not seeing very many people making very much for Great content, is this not the idea?
I could care less money wise, but I think all of the Apples on here are being put in the wrong baskets.

Happy Writing :)

Well, they don't pay anything when they upvote. Noone is spending out of their pocket. So...

I understand, I'm just saying the aspect of this site is to pay people for their content and it seems that most of the funding is going towards ideas opposed to the initial idea. When in fact most of these ideas are a jumble of ideas and a few pictures. No actual backing or proof that this is ever going to be developed. Just my opinion.

And I respect your opinion :) But I think if someone wants to do charity or get fund through upvotes, that's okay with me. And if they are succesful, that brings more visibility to #steem. The same reason why some users with high SP vote for a makeuptutorial. There is space for everybody and all kinds of content. I am not trying to change your mind. I am just saying that this platform is bringing out the best of everybody and I love it. There are scammers and spammers. But it's yin and yang. Its balanced

I understand. Thanks for the explanation, inevitably its up to the fans who they want to vote for anyway right. :)

It'all good. You had valid questions :) Keep calm and steem on lol

Interesting post. Well done :)
