How To Make The Best Of Your Ideas On Writing And Steemit

in #steemit7 years ago

Throughout my PhD journey, I was given more and more conditions to graduate. Initially, I was only required to complete my thesis. However, as time went by, I was required to present at a few conferences as well as to write a few articles. With all these tasks becoming mandatory, I had to find more creative means to produce more articles.

If by any chance my supervisor is seeing this, welcome to Steemit and please let me pass. For all of you out there writing research articles and finding ways to write more content on Steemit, I hope this helps. So let's get started...

Multiple Perspectives

One way I have learnt about writing education research papers is on the need for reliability. As such, one way to do so is by investigating multiple perspectives. By bringing multiple perspectives, it will not be difficult to come up with varying points of view. Each point of view is a potential post. An example is when you are writing about why someone should be on Steemit, consider writing how it will benefit people of different backgrounds and profession. It is possible to write all of it in one article, but why not do an in-depth analysis on each perspective instead?

This is because as you analyse a particular perspective, you may find more ideas that may arise from it. For example, if you are arguing that students will not benefit from learning using Steemit because they may lose sight of their learning, consider that finance does play a role in the students' learning as well. If students have to constantly worry about their finances, they will not be able to focus on their learning. Thus, perhaps another post can be used to address how Steemit does help encourage learning to a certain extent.

Another method is by interviewing different experts or subjects who have been involved. This help others see things from a different angle. Each angle can be made into a post and all of it can be based around a general topic or theme. For example:

  • How do you make time to write on Steemit?
  • How would you define love?

Addressing each topic from your own point of view, but imagine writing about the same topic but with different perspectives. You may likely be able to produce ten posts on the same topic but different content.

Comparative Analysis

While this can be difficult, its definitely worth it. We live in a society where we learn not through reading but through listening (podcasts) and watching (Youtube Videos). Thus, writing posts from a comparative analysis requires the writer to post pictures or videos comparing different items. It can be on why a particular Steemit post is better than the other or why the latest Samsung Galaxy s9 is better than the Iphone.

As you analyze comparatively, stretch your ideas by comparing multiple issues or subjects. You may want to compare the latest phone with many other different types of phone. Each time you compare, you address a particular strength or deficiency. That way, it will take a longer time before you have to figure out what to write next.

Triangulating

The use of multiple perspectives and comparative analysis are great ways to write different posts based on the same idea. However, after comparing multiple devices or investigated multiple perspectives on a particular issue, you don't just want to conclude, you want to triangulate.

Here's an example, if you were to interview others on the reason behind what is stopping them from posting on Steemit everyday, you may want to triangulate between other people that you have interviewed and conclude reliably what is the biggest hindrance in stopping someone from writing everyday. In addition, you can also conclude reliably the answer to a particular question based on the comparison between two phones.

I hope all this helps, may you never run out of ideas when writing or creating content on Steemit. Do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Hi @alvinauh great evaluation and assessment of writing skill and research. I also believe such knowledge is applicable to article writing in Steemit.
Good sharing of your knowledge

Greta ideas and well laid out thanks this is very helpful

Thanks man, its good to put what I teach to good use.

Indeed it must be

That's once nice way to put things in perspective! You shared some really great ideas on your post. Thank you.

Thanks! I do hope that it helps others find ways to write posts, especially since our ideas are all finite.

Thanks alot for ideas you share..

i already have done all these methods and keep doing them. I think they all provide me with good results and give a more real and scientific approach to my posts

That's great! Glad that it has been working for you. It's like a confirmation that what is written here works

Triangulation is nothing if you have experience in mixed methods and know how to lead interviews/focus groups. It is just the qualitative side (cannot be automated much) very daunting.

Meta analyses, reading all previous papers in your field, kill most.

That's true, but I suppose like all research methods, it depends on how you justify your data and analysis. For some reason in my area/ work the people in charge prefer triangulation in mixed method and action research. Perhaps its just their preference or that they don't know much about meta-analysis.

Thanks for pointing this out though, have not come across a presenter using meta-analysis in years!

Im currently doing my phD too. Yes i absolutely agree on imposing several perspective to understand a single matter. This enlightened on how i can elaborate my research especially on the triangulation method. Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks! Appreciate that it has been helpful! What field is your research in?

My bacground is in architecture and im doing research in psychological and anthropological perspective on sketching..:)
