REPORT & REVIEW OF FIRST STEEMIT LONDON MEET UP
The first London Steem-meetup was held on Friday 26/08/2016, here is a short review of what went on.
I managed to get us an area on a boat overlooking London Eye and Big Ben. I thought this was a perfect place to hold first Steemit meeting for all the existing Steemit users and new ones who never heard of Steemit.
They managed to spell my name wrong :)
I ordered a few bottles of Bubbles and made some Steemit chocolate cookies. You can see my previous post on how to make those.
I have taken advice from @steemrollin about some of the key points about what to do and how to prepare for the meeting and it helped me a lot to make it really successful. If you are planning a meet up, make sure to book a space in advance, especially if you are picking a nice location.
I have created Steemit London group and the steemit Meet up on Facebook and shared it with friends and their friends. This helped me to attract new people to the meeting.
Then I have prepared a Steemit presentation on my iPad, which was an overview of Steemit to show people what the platform is all about. It was a general overview to explain to people how the platform works and answer any questions they had. If anyone wants a PDF copy, let me know I can send it to you.
Overall we had a really positive and productive meeting. I think it is important to start establishing basic relationships with Steemians in London. We all agreed to support each other and new people that join Steemit. The meet up lastedlonger than 2 hours and well into the night. I was very pleased with the meeting and I think everyone enjoyed it as well.
I have something really big planned for Steemit in the next few months, and its a huge project that will blow everyones mind. So stay tuned! Everyone who came to the Meet up, signed up to steemit and even set reminders:

I have been to so many events in Bitcoin over 4 years, and the associated spaces, and I have never ever seen more females than males. This is huge, women are really interested and learning about Bitcoin, I'm disappointed when I go to an event and it's 98% male, but don't get me wrong it's still fun but more women in crypto for sure! Learn all the things though, Bitcoin etc... This is a clear example of the appeal of Steemit to a more diverse group, and to me huge!
Yeah well I am determined to bring more women to the platform! I think it will be a great thing and like you said in most cases it is mainly males. :) Glad you approve thanks for taking time and commenting!
Great experience, once you get a group of people together that want to offer value. Throw in a few bottles of prosecco... and chat for a few hours on a 'steem boat' - the result is a pretty inspiring night.
As Alla mentioned above, watch out for something really big :p

Alla, thank you so much for brining us all together! Lets grow it, and increase it and make it bigger and bigger! You know I've already messaged Steemit meet-up particiapnts in Moscow! And now Riga is coming on board! We should seriously Skype-conference with them during the next meet-up :) :)

Great call on a boat ride for it. Also incredible how many women made it to the meet up. @creationlayer was talking on the steemspeak channel about how he's never been at a meetup that was more than 20% female. this is great for the entire cryptospace, steem empowers women!
hahah yeah thats for sure. You know I was very surprised myself to be honest, but I did invite a lot of people and their friends, so mainly it was women who are interested in Steemit! I think its good to have a balance :)
