Do I chase the trending posts or keep posting what I know.
Everybody wants to post that post that gets you onto the trending page and earns you big money, you look at those posts with the big payouts and think why wasn't it mine?
The simple answer is you don't have the followers or you're posting about the wrong things with the wrong tags but is that true?
I've seen new accounts get posts going trending while older accounts struggle so followers can't be the reason unless a restreem by an established user is the reason. The simple fact is getting a trending post is down to luck rather than what you post. There isn't a topic that will get you a payout, a great post may not fly for you while a lesser post earns you more. We are at a stage here where luck for most is a far greater factor than what we post so what do we do?
We continue to post, we post what we know and wait for such posts to take off, don't chase a payout but post what you love. steemit will grow and all subjects will grow so be a groundbreaker for the things you love.
I could not agree more. Creators chasing trending topics is what destroyed YouTube for me as a viewer. Instead of getting original, fresh and authentic content, I just got the same videos over and over on the same topics. Just because all the creators were chasing the money. And now look how that's going for them. Just focus on doing what you do best and giving people quality content that adds value to their lives, whatever that value might be. Just my 2 cents.
"the harder I worked, the luckier I got..."
Or...
"Luck = preparation meets opportunity."
Keep investing in skills, knowledge, and practice of the craft... experiment... find your own voice and write authentic, valuable content... become a student of value, and commit to continually increasing the value you deliver, and luck will not be needed - for you will attract the rewards earned through the process of increasing your value to the community... ;-)
I get this.....well said :-)
I post what i know , make a post about crypto and steem need some level of knowege i just dont have , so better post what are you good in !
The whales don't feel any need to give you a little hand job here so you won't be getting into the trending page. Now if you were worth sucking up to, chances would be much better. Not just you but myself and pretty much almost everyone else around. The answer though isn't to get all disparaged about it but to become a heavy hitter.
I would agree with sticking to what you know-- or at least what interests you, because your passion for what you're covering will come through in the content. "Fad chasing" might earn you a quick buck (or not) but it's all but impossible to build a genuine long-term following if those followers never know what you're going to serve up for them next.
