Is Steemit's "train" gone?
Everyday I notice more and more changes on Steemit. And I have decided to bring a very important problem/hurdle for the steemit community to the plate.
The evolution since day 1
Since day one, there have been more and more people joining steemit in extreme numbers. Since the steemit rewards pool is small enough as it is, we have mroe and more new people coming on here making the pool smaller and smaller. Not only that, but a lot of these new people are beggars. Like I mentioned in my last post, they are begging like crazy for upvotes, follows, etc. And a person even asked me for money. So, our rewards pool is getting drained, and we are getting more and more ignorant people on this website spamming for upvotes and follows.
And a lot of times, these new people come on here doing stuff like copying and pasting others' content and stealing ideas. So there really is a need for the @cheetah bot. Without that bot, we would have people stealing content left and right and would continue to get away with it.
So the way things are going, steemit is up for a crash or something bad. And I think we need to eliminate the massive wave of people joining. It's not only hurting the community and the people who were OG's of steemit, but they spam people and beg for upvotes and follows or they say "hey man I upvoted and followed" or something along those lines in hope that you would do the same for them. And the thing is, it ends up back firing because people flag them for that. Some people do, some don't. With all of the new people, we are getting hurt more and more.
And with the steemit pool being drained by the new people and people cashing out, our payouts gradually go down since HF-19, and we end up losing more than half of our payout. Damn shame. It has been hurting me sooo much.
My proposal.
I think steemit shouldn't let people in for free anymore. I believe what will help restore the community is less people. And since there are more and more people, we need to limit that. So steemit should allow people in by charging people or by invite only. Just and idea.

Sounds like you're frustrated Alex, and it's understandable. You and me both joined right at the peak of steemit when it was so good people flocked like crazy. Steemit today reflects the real world. There are some powerful people at the top that are well off because of steemit, amd others that hve invested directly into the platform to become powerful. Now if we or any new people want to be part of the elite we will realize that we have to invest in order to make. I think that's actually the direction steemit developers want it to go!
I have read your previous blog and it was a real good one, but now back to this one. Having new people joining the platform i think is great as long as they don't behave like the ones you mention. Of course the ideea of making money here will bring this kind of people but very fast all this they will abandon the place and quit as on a long term only good and quality content will last. About the pool reward honest i understand your pain as is happening to all of us. The key is to enjoy here, have fun add quality content and the rest will follow on a long run... and of course always Steem on!

Seems as though most people are more concerned with earning than bringing any type of quality to the platform. There is an overabundance of clutter here, much like any social network, and most people are clicking blindly in hopes of earning.
