Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook will be looking into cryptocurrency in the new year.
"There are important counter-trends to this — encryption and cryptocurrency — that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people's hands," Zuckerberg wrote in his 2018 mission statement, issued on Thursday. "But they come with the risk of being harder to control. I'm interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services."

interesting @albertvhons ! Facebook have been copying and integrating all the main features of their competitors into its platform (for instance, following people or using hashtags like twitter, realtime videos like periscope, videos with expiration like snapchat or instagram... ) Do you see facebook ever implementing facebook dollars? Since facebook is centralized and out of the relm of the blockchain i guess that would be quite difficult for them.. what do you think?
It is not really difficult to implement if they come up to the Idea of steemit, but decentralizing facebook is the difficult maybe since they were been centralized ever since.
but if they come up to decentralize, incentivize and used cryptocurrency, they all have the advantage already,
Its all about Power and Influence
It is possible, I do think that competition is good though. Especially since steemit has first mover advantage, however facebook has a much larger audience to work with. Will be interesting to see how this plays out
2 days ago, he just mention it, and probably it would not like as steemit, we know facebook plays censorship, I don't think facebook will be decentralised.., probably, it could be centralised. Let see how it plays!
I'm sure that the staff here ,who are obivious great foward thinkers, will alway's have another new modification for steemit to stay ahead of the game.

Steemit has a very very very different target and concept, so I don't think we can compare it with Facebook.
For now, we can't compare facebook and steemit, but if zuckerberg really means in his "GIVING BACK THE POWER TO THE PEOPLE WITH THE USE OF CRYPTOCURRENCY" He might reffering what STEEMit already has DONE,
It seems Facebok is adopting fast. In a post I wrote more than a year ago I noticed some issues in the voting system on Steemit. The issues still stay the same. "The current concept of content evaluation at Steemit by voting has several flaws. The first and the most obvious is that you can vote for a content (at the feed) without opening the post. Who on Earth can tell if a post is worth it without reading it first? Another one is that you can vote for your own post and yes, people do that. yeah, steemit has weakness and strenght depends on angles you based to see it.

he may copy the what steemit has done in crypto way of incentivize but maybe in a centralized way to control, or maybe decentralize,
Its no new story that steemit is growing bigger with the growith of each new day higher than last.
