Facebook Daily Users on Decline, How Steemit can pounce on this opportunity.

As we all know that Facebook made some tweaks to its news feed algorithm but these changes have gone all wrong in terms of hurting Facebook daily user base, The data was revealed by Facebook itself in the annual investor report released on January 31.

A lot of doubts have been encircling in air regarding facebook's use of private data collected from public, Specially the young users of facebook are more serious with how their data is being used and the allegations regarding private data collection is hampering the young user base of facebook,

Although this is a Bad news for facebook, it is similarly a very good news for steemit. Steemit should push its efforts towards adding some features that are barriers in the larger adoption of steemit.

i think the most important update that steemit needs is a smartphone app more than anything else, Steemit lacking an app has been holding back many new users from joining it, as everybody cannot dedicate time on a pc in order to aceess the community and in many developing countries like my country india, A much larger number of people have access to a smartphone as compared to laptops and desktops, and the number of smartphone users is booming day by day while the pc users are in decline.

Steem has also been listed on Binance which brings it much better exchange ability as an asset, Users dont get any money on facebook out of the ad revenue earned by facebook and people in heavily populated developing countries using facebook can easily be attracted to steemit since the value of money in those countries is much more than in developed ones, only a little money can help them a lot more than people in developed countries.

If we penetrate these demographics even in small numbers, word of mouth spreads fast in these countries. and anything which acts as source of income comes with its own hype. To Further support this hype some marketing needs to be initiated by the steemit community. i am not saying anybody should pay for the marketing but there is space available on the steemit pages which can be monetized for some addition revenue for the community in Fiat currency, which can later be spent to buy internet advertisement for steemit using any service provider like adwords, etc.

I know that ads are annoying but so far from my experience i have understood that they are a necessary evil, and i am not saying that anybody earns from the revenue, it should totally be used for advertising purposes of steemit community itself, These ads can be get rid of by user consensus when we reach pre decided number of users.

i think these two improvements can bring a lot of users to the steemit platform, The Monthly active users on facebook are 2.2 Billion and a it has 560 Billion MarketCap. in comparison steemit has under a million users and around 1 billion of market cap. if we manage to reach just 10% of facebook user base then steem value can easily go around 200-300$/STEEM, benifiting all the users.

On the app side there are efforts going on and hopefully we can get an app in coming months as i came across the info in a post on steemit by @yuriks2000 in which they said their app is going is be out this month. Just a little more push in terms of marketing is needed to support the app, and Steemit can fly of new heights soon.
