Betta is an ornamental fish that live in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. Betta fish is now one of the mainstay of Indonesian export to foreign countries. In the history of hickey fish once only fish that live in the rice fields.

This is the first time I hear about this fish called "Betta". As you said this is an ornamental fish, so does it only increase the ornamental value in the Aquarium or is it eaten in other countries for which there's a huge demand for the fish and thus it's exported to foreign countries.
