Thank you to whoever just updated Steemit Wallet to give a Red warning message whenever "Bittrex" or "poloniex" or any exchange is typd in, it reminds us we MUST have memo when sending to an exchange! No more accidentally sending 2 exchanges without memo!

in #steemit7 years ago

So i was sending 10 SBD to Bittrex and i noticed there was some RED warning message that came up and it scared me!

And then I read what it said, "You must include a memo for your exchange transfer'

This is GREAt news! REALLY cool! VERY nice! Now we wont accidentally send money to an exchange without a memo which can result in our money getting lost and having to wait months for the exchange to try and find it which DOES take a while and it is not the exchanges fault, and I know even whales and experienced crypto people still end up making mistakes, rushing or are tired and have sent money to an exchange without a memo! It's why I personally try to break up any large amounts of crypto into smaller amounts as my worst fear is that I make a transaction of a large amount of crypto and it just never shows up, heh it would be hard for that to happen but I know it's possible maybe a minor fee error, where it says it sent one but never die, all sorts of things can go wrong! And this new warning message will just be another measure to PREVENT mistakes!

So this new feature can possibly save millions of dollars in potentially lost funds that will probably not get lost now!

This should show everyone just how much good a small little improvement can make on the lives of steemit users. There is so much work to do, much of that work must be left to developers but we should all be raising attention and raising money for more full time developers and think tanks to improve the interface and get extra coins in the internal exchange and all the other cool stuff we need can happen faster with extra funds and more full time workers...right? I have a feeling I might be mistaken here! I have a feeling it might be more complex than just throwing money and more workers at the problem! Maybe there is no problem and these upgrades are happening on schedule and we just have no idea how good steemit is going to get very soon! So Thank you to the developers for adding this badly needed warning feature!

( amazing steemit image by Steemit user in Bali Indonesia @samstonehill he is a real inspiration living in an Eco Village in paradise independent from banks and the system living off steemit and crypto currency!)

Let's have some confidence in this system which we use everyday with very few problems or errors! It almost never goes down it never crashes ive never had a problem where I couldn't get my steem or SBD or power down, and we have busy.org incase steemit is ever down but I haven't had to use it! Now can you really say that about Exchanges or other crypto currencies? Steem blockchain and steemit.com which we use to access it, Both work so well and compared to any other crypto currency works soooo smoothly. We have no idea just what's coming! if the price of steem goes down in the short term then GOOD more for us to buy! It WILL go back up as soon as the new features come out! When you can buy and sell bitcoin or ethereum and altcoins in your steemit wallet, for example, people will FLOCk to steemit as their one stop shop for all cryptocurrencies! We ain't seen nothin yet! SOME of us DO know how powerful steemit will become and how BIG the steem blockchain beneath it will grow and how many apps and services will grow out of the steem blockchain, hell View.ly might end up bringing in more users to steem blockchain than steemit itself! people might be using steem just as a platform the way Youtubers use Youtube, and it wont just be a social network, we should realize that a million minnows with 1 cent each can make a thousand dollars! The ingredient are here and steem WILL hit $1000 in maybe 2 to 5 years somewhere in that range, but it will happen and the few people with over $1000 worth of steem will become millionaires! And even before then many of us will become millionaires with EOS!

(Look at this EOS brand Money clip, think it is a coincidence? Or just Synchronicity, a message a sign from the Universe that just the word EOS is associated with success, EOS cameras EOS cars now EOS money clip? reminds me of how Ripple logo looks exactly like those Fidget Spinner's that became so popular...but this EOS money clip i just found after google image searching "EOS money" really seems like a god sign, but hey that's just me being looney because the REAL reason EOS will succeed is in the technology! But as a monetary tool for making some money we cannot ignore it, we should all be buying at least 100 EOS while its still between $1 and $2 do NOT wait any longer, it will be $100 before the end of this year for sure.

EOS will be the extra boost we all need! My next post will be a very simple user friendly method for buying EOS even from inside the USA using steem or SBD from your steem wallet and Bittrex or Poloniex and Exodus Wallet! (if exodus had steem or SBD i wouldn't need the bittrex or poloniex exchange )

Steemit is lacking in a good user guide. Steemian make post when they find out new things but then they become quickly outdated when Steemit platform is updated but the posts remain forever with the outdated information. Is this the philosophy of Steemit that you have to do your own research about the platform through trial and error!

hey man come on! thts a bad way to look at it! theres no "philosophy" but yes u do have top learn on your own because NOONE is hired to do that! its all grass rootsd! its decentralized! Steemit is al user generated! sure theres a smal group who got it set up but now its just working on its own! so if you want a use guide u need to make one yourself!

We are tryng to make user guides! @tytran and some other users he knows are trying yto publihs a book! We need to have more youtube hguides to get people setup but look there is nothing you ned a uiser guide for steemit is too user friendly

if you mean u want a guide on how to make MONEY on steemiut well look Injstagram dosnt tach you how to crate good content youtuibe doesnt giveu a guide on how to create a good youtube channel

that is up to you!

but you are correct w DO need a user guide BUT its NONES fault! u should ve grateful steemit is here at all! Beggers cant be choosers! u get whjat u pay for! u cannot emand a service u never paiud for ! WHo would make a user guide when noone is being paid for that? But u COULD get paid if u make one! try making a user guide post! but u need to remember that this is ALl new and we have to build what we want!

this can be YOUR opportunity! u an TTALy make a user hguide and get RICH off it man! ythis can be zYOURtime to shine!!!!

Hi @ackza totally understand that you need to find out more yourself, its part of the journey to discover more about the platform and its potential. There are little things that newbies need to know for example one of the main component about Steemit is blogging and the markdown formatting is not very well explained.

Steemit is the first time that I have been exposed to markdown as I don't frequent other sites that uses markdown. Since finding out about markdown I have also found out that not all markdown are the same and Steemit is no different. I have been using a feature of markdown one day then the next day the feature did not work and I was a little confused only to find out a little later on that there were changes made.

Scam alert!
Google redirects you to wrong site bltrex with "l" and people were hacked.

https://steemit.com/google/@erez7770/scam-alert

Who would spell bittrex with an 1 ? or an l? so blttrex? how does google redirct yyou there? hod that happen?

u should always use ur own autocorect i guess, or go have phisihing gaurds i dunno, just be careful when typong in addresses

I still don't know how to go about buying bitcoin or EOS using USD.

you just have to use coinbase if you are in the US

Thanks, I'll have to look into that.

u need to go on Localbitcoins.com and find a local dealer, find someone u ca easily trade ur cash for bitcoin, OR just go on coinatmradar.com and find a local bitcoin ATM u can use to put in cash and it will sen u bitcoins right to ur tablet or smartphone

so just go find ur local bitcoin ATM and or use localbitcoins or just get a coinbase account and hook up your bank account but that trakes a fw days but look just use localbitcoins and coinbase
