[STEEMIT TUTORIAL] Re-size images using only the Steemit editor, in 3 easy steps! (works as of December 2017)
In order to write engaging posts, one of the most important things is to make sure your images are sized correctly. I found a couple old posts on the topic, but it seems those methods no longer work, so here's how to do it nowadays:
1. First, paste your image URL into the Steem editor. In the below example we are using an image which is natively sized at 1280x668. (Note: Steemit limits images to 800 pixels wide)
Native size 1280x668 (Steemit limited to 800x416)
2. Next, to resize the image, you simply need to copy this magic URL prefix:
https://steemitimages.com/WIDTHxHEIGHT/
and place it before your image URL, like so:
https://steemitimages.com/WIDTHxHEIGHT/https://...
3. The final step is of course to tweak the values to what you need. In our case we want the image to fill half our available screen width, so 400 pixels wide, and 208 pixels high.
https://steemitimages.com/400x208/https://...
50% size 400x208
25% size 200x104
Thanks for reading! I hope that proves useful to you, and if so, I would really appreciate an upvote :).
I also welcome any questions/comments you may have, and finally would like to wish you all a happy holiday season, wherever you are!

This promises to be very useful. I'm new here and I'm trawling Steemit to get information on how to post. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. Very useful. How do make your text bold? I missed that one as well.
Two asterisks either side of your text like this :).
Weird, for me it becomes italic... ahhh two asterisks. Thank you very much!
Thank you very helpful
