We need to see some additional functionality that I use everyday added to Steemit. For this to truly take off and flourish into a giant social media site we need some additional concepts and features added that are on Facebook and Pinterest. I will cover in this what features should be added.

1. Friends tab

The popular friends tab that I use everyday on Facebook needs to come to Steemit. This is part of the reason Facebook became such a popular site in the first place is people love to look at their friends photos, information, and see what they have been doing lately. If we could get a friends take that would be nice so we can view only what our friends are doing and posting.

2. Timeline

It would also be nice if we could have everything that we have posted and up voted organized into a nice timeline such as the one that Facebook has. The timeline I know isn't the most popular feature but it keeps your front page organized and looking sharp for everyone that goes to view it and look at what you are doing.

3. Filters

It would also be nice to see some more filters added to the site so we can filter out content that we do not wish to see, so we can either view only friends info or we can specify what content we want to filter out.

4. Blocking

I would also love it if we could block certain peoples content that we wish not to see like someone that is only posting spam on the site. This would be nice to help filter out what content we do not want to see.

5. Boards

It would be nice if I could organize articles that I like onto boards that I save for later when I have more time to study them. This would be like Pinterest that has a boards section that you make and you can name several different boards and you can pin the content you like the most onto certain boards in categories.

6. Followers button

It would also be nice to see a followers button added so that we can see who all of our followers are and make content specifically for them.

7. Following button

It would also be nice to have a following button so that we can go look at who we are following and see what they have been up to lately and what new content they have posted. This would be awesome because right now when I want to see peoples content that I am following I have to enter into my web browser steemit.com/@acassity or whatever their username is you have to do a /@username to go their page I don't know of any button that allows you to view only your followers right now but it would be nice to have the feature added to the site.

8. User friendly

It would be nice to see the site become more user friendly so that anybody can go to steemit.com and upload a photo and post an article or new content that could be valuable. Right now it could be hard for an average Joe that knows nothing about computers to make an account and post some photos or videos, you have to know a little about website coding and markdown to be able to post good content right now. For this to go mainstream we are going to need developers to add these additional features and come up with some great ideas. I would love to see this site have a market cap of over $10 Billion or more and for this to happen we need to go mainstream and target every single person that has Facebook and Pinterest. We need to become more user friendly, add some features, and become more organized.

I really do hope that word gets to Steemit developers and they can implement some of these great ideas and make this site go mainstream. Each and every person that is in this community is going to have to work hard in order for this site to thrive and become a successful leader in the social media space. This is a huge market lots of room for growth we are still only valued at $300 Million this is nothing compared to Facebook over $300 Billion and Twitter that is valued at over $12 Billion as of right now. We need to go mainstream folks we need to be the big boys in town no more just about bloggers and writers, think big folks.
