STEEMIT-UYO POETRY CONTEST - A MOTHER #MY ENTRY
Mother, I was housed in her womb,
Then, she led me into the world,
Her breast drenched me with the milk
That gave my tender life, love and care.
Mother, pampered and comforted me:
When tears travelled down my cheek
She eased my worries,
Taught me to walk and talk.
Mother, my everything:
In times of distress
Her shoulder was there to lean,
Her unconditional love fragranced me.
Mother, my lifecoach:
Her trainings were like the eagle to her eaglet,
Though this made me cry, then laugh,
You taught me to be independent.
Mother, you watched me grow,
When life's lessons I failed,
She taught me her pathway
And I sailed.
Mother, my strength:
Your life's lessons, transforming
Your sacrifices, immeasurable,
You put my needs before yours.
Mother, my advocate before Father,
Your prayers, reviving,
Your virtues, indispensable
Your heart, made of gold.
Mother, father's pride
Family's homemaker,
The friend my life's indebted to,
Mother, all in me loves you.
Nice one dear.
