Watch a Topic
Give Steemians the ability to bookmark certain favorite topics for later.
With the growing userbase here at Steemit, it's becoming more difficult to find topics that we've replied to on a daily basis. Certainly we can bookmark those topics in our browser, but perhaps adding a "Favorite" or "Watch" option to a topic here on Steemit would be beneficial to some.
Even better would be to also add a notification when someone replies to one of the Steemians watched topics. Most updated browsers have this ability for a notification popup, but a simple icon on the Steemit "Watchlist" would be suffice to start.
I would rather like to blacklist topics, and watch all the rest concurrently. A whitelist could work too, but then you miss out all the new topics.
Btw, is that how you use reddit?
On Reddit you "subscribe" to a subreddit. I'm just using different terms to be different from reddit. Perhaps we can have a topic (like we did for "categories") to decide what we'll call "subscribing", assuming that feature gets implemented. ;)
I think a Watch Topic ability would be useful too.
It could be just like subscribing on eddit, but with settings that let you choose to be alerted about new posts and\or new replies. Adding Watched Topics in the User Account dropdown would seem the best place for this.
