With an uncertain life and a heavy heart I found myself habitually in and out of a jail cell. Petty crimes for excitement constantly on the edge pushing to find that level of severity that would break me just enough to reprogram my process. Today has officially marked six years of perpetual freedom. A goal I suppose, but more so a sense of a purpose found, for in a few short months I will be blessed to meet that which my beautiful wife and I have created. Our first born. I knew life would change, but never have I found myself so elated that the tears I've spent years hiding with my pain have now found me in a new way and for the first time since I can remember the elusive "happiness" I put so much energy in chasing has crept up from behind and taken me into its embrace.
Now each day spent with eyes open is better than the last, and regardless of the trials ahead they will be met with a love and gratitude I've been craving since she took that first test.
