What Happens To Your Body When You Sleep Next To Your Mobile Phone

In the world we live in, we are exposed all day long whether at home, at work or in public spaces with electromagnetic waves such as antennas, laptops and wifi. Is this quasi-permanent exposure safe?

Digital has taken the monopoly and information flows with astronomical rapidity. We are connected, computers, tablets or laptops have become our daily companions even though the mobile phone remains the pioneer in communication.

The use of the mobile phone is increasingly solicited in everyday life. We arrived at the stadium 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. We are not posing it anymore. We take it with us wherever we go and if we forget it at home, we feel a lack.

We hardly ever turn it off and when we get ready to sleep, its place is on our bedside table.

Is it bad to sleep near a mobile phone?

If you do not want to turn off the cell phone at night, at least try to cut off the internet connection and place it at least a meter from your bed. This habit adopted by millions of people could cause many health problems.

Smartphones transmit harmful rays that are highly inadvisable. This is valid at any time of the day, but in the hours when we sleep, smartphones are to be avoided heavily. The presence of our cell phone at the bedside can cause insomnia, repeated awakenings during sleep and even nightmares.

The mobile phone causes a change in the system of certain self-regulating processes, such as our biological clock or our heart rate.

Expert Review

The World Health Organization (WHO) said all electronic devices in general (not just mobile phones) are bad for the body and can increase the risk of developing cancer. The toxic effects that emanate from it are ignored by many scientists.

This is why it is better to take note of the ionizing radiation of mobile phones and wavelengths.

A study in Australia has shown that there is an important relationship between the use of smartphones and infertility in men, and a reduced quality of sperm. And for both sexes, there is an increase in stress.

77% of people hold a mobile Phone, it is a figure surpassing for the first time that of laptops held not 74% of the French.

Your smartphone communicates non-stop

Although our mobile phone may have an alarm clock, we should really turn it off before sleeping. Even when we do not use it, it always communicates with base stations via radio transmissions. In other words, phones constantly create electromagnetic waves in the environment even at night, not just when they are used.

How to limit the effect of the smartphone

There are two ways to reduce the effect of the smartphone: first, turn it off and leave it in its usual place keeping in mind that you need to use a different alarm clock. The second option, if you can not get along without it, keep it in a remote room, like the kitchen or living room. This alternative is less desirable.

If your phone is essential, you wait for example a call or it is an emergency, you can at least turn off the Internet connection or WiFi, which is more dangerous than radio waves.

Do not leave your mobile phone in charge during the night even less if you have it under the pillow. Many people have burned their faces. There is also the risk of fire caused by the contact of flammable fabric (pillow, sheets, etc.).

New habits:

Here are some healthier habits to adopt:

  • Decrease the length of calls or change your ears after a few minutes.
  • Do not let children use the mobile phone, even as a toy.
  • Do not use your smartphone in an area where the network is weak because the waves are more powerful.
  • Do not put your mobile phone in your pocket.
  • Keep it away from you even at a distance of one meter.
  • Try not to use the mobile phone just before closing your eyes.

In this way, we avoid neural imbalances. The other devices you have can also be harmful to your health. Try not to have a television or computer in your bedroom or at least turn them off.

This is really interesting... I am guilty of keeping my phone under the pillow beside me... Won't be doing that again thanks for this post :)

you are welcome, you should take care of your health. Technology is only a means and not the goal

Definitely guilty of sleeping too near my phone. I have gone without for the past week and I can say with 100% certainty my sleep has improved and my day-to-day clarity increased. Technology does in fact interfere with the body! A wise one would mind their exposure to all these gadgets and gizmos.
