What should we do?
We need an open discussion with witnesses, whales, minnows, and everyone inbetween.
I joined Steemit thinking it was decentralised, but it seems that it has been centralised by the sheer weight of votes carried by the whales. What is the point of voting for witnesses when the whales decide?
I want discourse. I want Steemit to be different from the corrupt insitutions that have drawn many people to this place. I felt like that was, and can be its biggest selling feature as a social media platform. Something ethical and good where the community working together as a whole can evolve and grow the platform into something not yet imagined.
I agree, the inter-social support, to think and act outside the standards is the way to go. To make an alternative to government and banks real. Using the rep of the people to support them. Why do we have a rep system when there is no way of getting support to get a little business started to market away and make new users although there are lots of rich people? That is a turn off. Let's at least not be quiet now and fight against the empire which sucks out our blood.

I want to know that from the maker of Steemit and not, with all respect, from you (still important what you are doing but many people will not parttake in VOTU and believe in the wisdom of dan)
