TEXT:

****ISAIAH 59:1-2****

TOPIC:

****WHEN GOD’S ARM IS TOO SHORT AND HIS EAR IS TOO DULL****

The Prophet Isaiah speaks of the LORD’s arm not being short to save and His ear not too dull to hear. The presentation of God in this manner goes to tell of the capacity of God to rescue man and alleviate his suffering. Though God‘s not a human being to have a literal arm and ear, He nonetheless has the capability to do far more than a human arm and ear can do. But there are times when as His children, we pass through trials and difficult situations without apparent help from the LORD. At such times, it appears as if, contrary to Isaiah’s claim, the LORD’s arm suddenly becomes short and His ear dull over our situation. Even though in our text, sin is given as the reason for God’s unwillingness to save man, there are times when no particular sin is in the picture, yet God does not seem to come to man’s aid. When that happens, let us know that God has not changed. God is not God only when He saves man from a predicament. He is sovereign and cannot be quantified or qualified by the mundaneness of man’s expectations. If God’s arm were to be too short and His ears were to be too dull, He would still do what man with the longest arm and the sharpest ear would not come close to doing!

REFLECTION:

****has God proven that His arm is not too short and His ear is not too dull over a challenge in Your life?****

* itemPRAYER:

****Dear Lord, please help me to see and appreciate the fact that You have my interest at heart even when it does not appear to be so, Amen****.
