Patreon is extremely happy with their ban hammer. If you don't politically align with certain ideologies or even have some trouble with certain established media, you are at the risk of getting banned. The way I came across SubscribeStar was through this article regarding Vice Magazine and the banning of the Chinese tech Geek Naomi Wu
In case you faced a similar type of deplatforming or if you are in fear of being deplatformed, SubscribeStar is the best place I've come across as the donation volumes of blockchain alternatives tend to be very low

We really do need to promote this type of sites. Although blockchain donation platforms don't get a lot of volume STEEM based subscription service could do well because we have 60K DAU. People are not really into donating crypto but Splinterlands NextColony and even DrugWars show that people will pay crypto for a service/product. Resteemed for extra visibility :)
The reason @fundition isn't doing extremely well is because it is more like a charity and for a blockchain based charity crowdfunding project I'd say they are doing well. If they could improve things to include subscriptions, it would be massive.

Tbh there will always be alternative to this sort of sites while if implemented ideas in a nice way then who knows they might surpass the original in near future (though it rarely happens). While I was not really aware of S.Star and yep that seems to work well. Nice Hunt buddy.
Options are always good (escape unfortunate bans) and competition is always good for consumers (lower cut)
