Audius needs to remove the mediators of music gushing so craftsmen get paid what's coming to them. Leaving stealth today driven by serial business person and DJ Ranidu Lankage, Audius is building a blockchain-based contrasting option to Spotify or SoundCloud.

Even though traditional music streaming platforms such as Spotify,iTunes and SoundCloud are very popular and the most used platforms, I think they have totally failed artists in terms of royal payments and content monetization. It is really hard for artists; more so upcoming musicians to make a decent living from these sites. I have been using a similar blockchain platform built on the Ethereum blockchain called Choon and it has been truly an extremely exciting experience. I get paid decently in ERC20 tokens everytime anybody anywhere in the world streams or listens to my music. These payments happen daily and don't take long as would be with the traditional streaming sites. It is even much more exciting to see more music streaming platforms built on the blockchain coming into play.
Spotify and Deezer are some of my favorite apps because they allow me to listen to music on the PC without any distractions, and my favorite podcasts on the go. I think it's just amazing that people are building something similar on the blockchain.

This is an excellent platform where the creators of music and other audio can have an audience to expose their work, and through which you can also monetize your effort. A great initiative that will make content creators more motivated to keep growing and producing good music.
