remember to hunt really your best finds on the web, we want the site to be fully of quality awesome products that people will love!
some power tips for the next hunt.. .
Beware that this product is not entirely true against the "usual" jumpstarting of cars. It probably assumes a level of car battery that is enough high to start the car that many times. I highly doubt that if a car (petrol) battery is under very low voltage (your lights don't even light up), that it will be able to jump start the car, even once, since the amount of energy to charge the car battery will probably consume the entire battery of this product. Plus, at 12V those little cables can't handle more than 10A probably. Which means that you can't help the initial load a starter usually needs, that might be for very small cars from 100A to 400A in a very short period of time (milliseconds). Therefore, I always give a big laugh to anyone "trusting" on these products. Not that is fault of the consumers that can't be knowledgeable of all electrical details of a product, but because these guys are very savvy in trying to promote something using unrealistic scenarios...
I wont vote on the hunt, not because it's a bad one. But because I don't like the product makers (should never be sold under those reasons).
Hey @forykw. It says on the battery that it can deliver 12V/500A in Jumpstart mode which does seem a little bit too much with those small cables but it is only for a very short amount of time so i think it could work.
I have seen some videos of people jump starting trucks and they have not had any issues as far as i can tell.
That is either a complete misunderstanding by the product owner or an outstanding marketing mistake! Saying it will support 500A in JumpStart mode... without saying for "HOW LONG" it is basically assuming NOTHING on the rules of electricity! Because there are NO JumpStart standards (prove me otherwise with a link to that agreed standard, but I am very inclined that there is none)!... basically guarantees NOTHING to the user.
In electrical standards when you say something supports X Amperes of electrical current, you are saying that it will work "almost" 24/7 (usually there is a limit, like X amount of hours) under that load, under a certain max voltage and temperature (and I am assuming that we are not talking about superconductors here, otherwise this is even more of a joke). If you are not speaking under the standards, then you need to specify additional information. Basically, that product owner is trying to sell you something that is not understood internationally. This poses all sorts of things against them... like in some countries... not being able to sell the product.
I am an electrical engineer, and I can prove that the math (how many times you can jumpstart your car with that battery) will NEVER work for my "almost dead" battery where the lights of the car barely can light up.
Plus, you can't guarantee something will jump start that many times if you don't tell how big the THING you will be jumpstarting... in electrical terms I mean.
So, nothing against your post/hunt @tonimontana... you probably don't know enought as many other users. My point here is to just alert everyone trying to buy one. It will probably never work.. to jumpstart at least. The other things... are ok.
I agree with you @forkykw.. I read instruction manual of this product. From the hunter's statement it says that it could jumpstart a dead battery of SUV, mower and standard car. But, in the instruction manual it does not even said what type of battery can be jumpstarted. There are lot of types of battery and ratings/specs of batteries are not stated also..
If the power bank has 58,830 mWH rating and assumed that it has 12volts output. Probably it has 4 AH current capacity. I don't think it could jumpstart a dead battery which is around 12V, 60AH (battery for SUV). I guess it is only for lead-acid battery rating 6V, 4AH. I used to revive or jumpstart dead cellphone battery, I really needs much higher current to do that.. With the limited specification given by the manufacturer or seller, I cant say that it is quality and effective wise.. If it is true that this powerbank can do as it says, then , it is cool.. But, I doubt it.
