OpenAPS, calls itself a free and transparent project to create a free and adjustable artificial pancreas system. The platform itself is not a product, i.e., it is not a purchasable device, or a service, but rather it gathers the documentation and software necessary for anyone to program such a diabetes management system.
OpenAPS, provides a DIY system, which is allowed to make adjustments or the development of new functions, or even anything that occurs to the community, such as the incorporation of a mobile app or either custom control. The platform is designed to be interoperable and easy to use with existing devices on the market.
