Hunter's comment
The idea with MagicScroll is to have a screen which we can use in cylindrical format, where we can help ourselves with its lateral wheels that when turning them allow us a natural and infinite navigation. Using these wheels we could scroll through the content without having to touch the screen, and thus see, for example, our Instagram or Twitter timeline, or read news from somewhere.
Dr. Vertegaal, professor of Human-Computer Interaction and director of the Human Media Lab, commented:
"We were inspired by the design of ancient scrolls because their shape allows for a more natural and uninterrupted experience of long visual timelines."
This design is a bit fragile and the tactile experience is not very satisfactory, and the panel has a slight curvature. According to its creators, the product is not yet very portable in size, they want something as small as the size of a pen.
