Reason ML is a language created by Facebook, leveraging the power of functional programming from OCaml combining with JavaScript! ReasonML will compile down into JavaScript.

Facebook had shown a lot of promising project that used OCaml (Flow & ReasonML), and this shows a lot of promising possibility of using Functional Programming into JavaScript world.

Key Features:

• Type safe, say no more to runtime error.
• Functional programming shows a lot of promises. (mutation are not allowed)
• Works well with React.js. (ReasonReact)
• Simple and elegant.
• Easy to write test.
• In depth documentation provided.
• Open source project. Github repository

Drawbacks

• Functional programming might be a learning curve for new comers or people from object oriented background.

Overall

ReasonML are still a young language, a lot more promising updates and community growth might make this language into wider adoption of others.
