Hunter's comment
Reason ML is a language created by Facebook, leveraging the power of functional programming from OCaml combining with JavaScript! ReasonML will compile down into JavaScript.
Facebook had shown a lot of promising project that used OCaml (Flow & ReasonML), and this shows a lot of promising possibility of using Functional Programming into JavaScript world.
Key Features:
- Type safe, say no more to runtime error.
- Functional programming shows a lot of promises. (mutation are not allowed)
- Works well with React.js. (ReasonReact)
- Simple and elegant.
- Easy to write test.
- In depth documentation provided.
- Open source project. Github repository
Drawbacks
- Functional programming might be a learning curve for new comers or people from object oriented background.
Overall
ReasonML are still a young language, a lot more promising updates and community growth might make this language into wider adoption of others.
