Maybe paper is not many hunters' interests but "beer paper" sounds cool, doesn't it?
I happened to watch a documentary film about the company, Gmund, and was touched by their consistent effort to develop new material for papers other than trees.
Hope we can meet more products with this Bier Papier and feel the beer in different (more forest-protective) way!

Thanks for your comment @geekgirl but I think this product is type 2-6.
Although it's not easy to judge a product is "innovative or not" or a problem (which is related to product) is "major or not", you can tell this is an approach to protect forest and develop new material for paper other than trees.
Also you can see other "papers" are approved, maybe for similar reason.

I know it's not a good idea comparing hunt approvals but we usually hunt (which may be something on gray zone) based on it - so I hope modes will be more careful, regardless of this hunt's approval.

It's a kind of beer, so it's an interesting and ingenious idea. I wonder what kind of fragrance it will smell like.

For paper made from unconventional materials, it looks like high-quality board stock. Hope it's not too expensive. If I were a beer company, I'd probably use it for my stationery and other corporate materials. It looks like a more fun alternative to regular board stock. Nice find.
