Streetscore is an algorithm that scores a street's safety as perceived by human beings but using a computer. It is running on a website with map visualizations. The map is color coded with dots according to how safe a street is, green (perceived as the safest), yellow, orange, and red (perceived as least safe).

If you are new to a place or going to a place not known to you, this algorithm will be very useful to know which is the safest route you should take when traveling. Even if you are from the places, it is also a very good reference if you pass by during unholy hours and there could be possible danger along the way.

I guess we all agree that safety is of high priority specially when you're along the street. I just hope this app will be made available globally...
