DBeaver support a long list of database servers such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle. It is supported by Eclipse framework ( WIndows, MacOS, Linux etc.)
DBeaver is distributed by two packages, a standalone application and Eclipse plugin version. In Eclipse plugin version, it works most of the Eclipse IDE platforms. In addition, it also support java SQL library.
For open source developers, you can contribute through its Github repository, dbeaver/dbeaver. Lastly, you can download DBeaver by visiting dbeaver.io.

Hmm looks liks a great alternative. I am using Data Grip from JetBrains. seems like this is the free alternative, and it is open source.
