HERON is a kind of water drone used especially for research purposes because it has the ability to take and store water samples, in addition to using sensors to determine different factors present in the water as the estimated depth.
Heron is a portable, mid-sized surface vessel. The catamaran design includes anti-fouling thrusters, an incredibly shallow profile, and built-in GPS for easy access positioning data.
It should be noted that the best thing about this gadget is that it can reach a very good speed, also thanks to its sensors and GPS incorporated can perform mapping of underwater and normal areas. Of course, this "drone" is totally waterproof and can withstand and move even in rain and snow.
One more thing this drone/aquatic robot is totally open source, ie it can be programmed to perform any kind of tasks or monitoring, plus it can be equipped with more gadgets.

This will be useful to test water samples of possible nuclear contaminated water like the one from Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant
Yes and the fact that this can store up to 8 water samples is great and very practical.
