This is an awesome app built by a 17-year old high school student. The app initially received 150K funding, and then even got help by the UN.
Five App is not your regular messaging app. It is an for communicating in sign language using built-in avatar system. It is a perfect tool for those who know sign language, people with imparied hearing, and those who are learning sign language.
Just type the first letter of a word you're looking for and you’ll see a smaller animated icon version. You can also search them by category. source
It has 800 ASL signs available and more being added. It also has facial expression avatars and can also be combined with regular text.
Another cool feature of the app is it allows using sign language on Facebook messenger. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices. Give it a try, share with friends. For more information please visit their website.

Amazing hunt you brought here @geekgirl. The hearing impaired and other challenged people are somehow limited from taking advantages of technology. This is a communication tool for the hearing impaired and also great for learning sign language.

Love the fact that it was built by a young adult! Very kool! My lil' ones are learning to sign in school which I found to be pretty profound. They're now teaching me! Somethin' like this would be pretty useful! Nice hunt!

It is indeed a very helpful application for our brothers and sisters who cant speak, they have a place in social media thru chatting w/ Sign Languages. Nice.

Its really helpful messenger app for the user. Sometimes its really to know to other language & what they are saying after using this you able to know unkown languages also you will learned some language words....
