Or maybe you prefer to think of it as Medium but lighter.

And without FLUFF.

Better even, it’s privacy-focused and supports Markdown.

With a distraction-free editor too.

Basically, it’s the writing and reading experience you want on Steem.

It’s open source too.

The recently introduced write.freely is fully open sourced and can be self-hosted and tweaked as your heart desires.

And just like write.as you can syndicate your content to Twitter, Medium, and even Mastodon via federation.

Yes, it’s federated.

There’s beautiful apps too.

It’s like busy and Steemit for minimalists. But minus the rewards.

Somebody build it on Steem already!

hmmmmm, minimal. .. . actually really nice, upvoted.

I like the idea. Sometimes simple is better. When I was using blogger like 5 years ago, some of my friends were just using it with most basic theme and does not care about customization and such. They were using it like dairy. This is without any theme and other things, suits better for that kind of purpose.

I always waste hours and hours finding solid minimalist themes for my sites.

Granted, this one may be slightly too minimalist but for writing it's awesome. And with it being an open network it may see gorgeous reading apps too.

Sometimes all you need is a little less stuff to clutter your activities. I kind of like some visual flair but sometimes there is such thing as over designing and desperation to stand off. Minimalism allows the most important things to be focused on.

It's also great that the project is open-sourced. But I do wish there were more than three fonts. Even the pricing is pretty fair. I mean they only focus on the most important bits. So they can deliver a product for a more affordable price.

Their typography, and definitely the whitespacing in it, needs work.

Sadly enough Typekit is expensive but I guess they could always use self-hosted Google fonts and force local storage to avoid privacy concerns.

Really cool, @crypticwyrm also posted about this recently and I checked it out then, I like it a lot. Seems like we're getting closer to the promised land. Since it's open source might not be too hard to fork for Steem ... 🤔

Just need the editor. Merge it with @sambillingham's work. LOL

Yeah! Spotted this on HN too. Totally thought about what i've been missing that this platform has. There still heaps of potential out there. Been off-grid since Steemfest and coming back with a new refined focus for my projects.
