Forget about that password manager.

Store your passwords and private keys in a RFID-enabled biochip implant. No need for a car key anymore, worry no more about your phone running out of juice and thus locking yourself out of your home. Just wave your cryptobionic implant at the door and “Sesam...”... no, please. Don’t, just don’t.

Nevertheless, if you’re not working in one of those places where your boss requires you to have one of those, adopt the future and get your chip.

Make plastic-free paying worth the awesomeness you deserve.

Never will logging in to Steem feel that cool.

And you thought TouchID and FaceID were cool.

As long as Facebook doesn't control the chip I am okay. :)

You are right, we are going to see a lot of technology like this unfolding. It is also why decentralization is crucial and restoring control over data to individuals vital.

If we are "chipped" and governments or mega-corps control that, we could be in for 1984.

That is why the work we do each day on a platform like Steem is so important, we are providing an alternative for people with these ideas to build upon.

They use blockchain based cryptography to store the data on, but while I know VivoKey is real and operational already, I have no info about the actual blockchain behind it.

Yet, it isn’t too much of a stretch to imagine tech like this, and based on decentralized blockchains, become the future cold wallets.

Yes, I think these will be a reality in the next few years - and that seems great, and like something out of a science-fiction movie.

First adopters will want them because they're "cool" - bugs, limited functionality and all. And for a while, they might offer convenience and make you feel like you're from the future.

But the more data is stored, and the more reliant we become on them, the more dangerous they become.

What if they're so "useful" they become mandatory, and store all your biometric, personal, health, financial and historical data.

Then it doesn't matter who controls the data,

it's always on your person, always "available", and always at risk of malfunction, corruption, hacking, manipulation, erasure. Maybe turning your data off, turns you off - from a society/infrastructure reliant on you presenting it - everywhere, and in every situation?

Haha!!! I love getting carried away on this stuff :)

Here's to the future...great hunting.

5 years ago, Actually I don't believe this kind of technology will emerge. But the world is so crazy right?

This product, it will change how we save our money (especially) and how we transact.

Imagine, we only need our part of our body to store the most important data, keys, etc.

LOL, this will kill hardwallet companies, hard keys companies :joy:.

I am sure in the future, the biochip can be used to monitor our health too (OOT).

Finally there is something that can help me justify introducing myself as 007.

I think the idea is probably very old, and as you said, you've known of these for about 5 years. I shouldn't be scared of new tech but i think i and a few others are negatively biased from all the sci-fi movies we see. risks are surely there, but for private use for security, its a great idea.

I don't know if we will see a day when new born babies will be have these as implants and the whole world being tracked. i think that is really a very long tail risk.

It had been a while since I last created a Steemhunt season.

Biochips inbound. 😂

$rewarding 100% 14min

This is a scary proposition because although it has great intentions and the use cases are almost limitless, I foresee a lot of unintended consequences and companies jockeying for position to control. This is one step away from automation and I for one dont know if I am ready for implants yet

It’s been around 5 years now I’ve heard of these chips. First by some rich Swedes who used it in LA to pay in clubs, then eventually by (mostly security) companies. IIRC there’s even a court case in the UK about whether an employer can make it compulsory, but could be in another EU country.

It’s both amazing and scary tech. The sheeple may get royally screwed over by it but then again since early this century it’s been Big Brother everywhere in first world already anyway. They wouldn’t even know.

Couldnt agree more

It seems like we have entered into an age of technology, where it is getting difficult for us to differentiate between reality and fiction, because for me, Vivokey is science fiction which is turning into solid reality.

YOU ARE VERIFIED.

When you thought we have seen it all and we can't be nearer to the apocalypse (not a believer though). One thing is sure, thing sort of Technology in place of keys, cards, passwords and sorts will take away the risk of exposure to regular security challenges.

All transactions and even keys to your doors at the wave of the hand is giving up more freedom, giving more control and personal information to the 'company'. Not to take away all the merit of it all, this will make life even more easier and automated.

This chip uses blockchain tech btw. Sadly enough I have no info about the actual chain they use and its setup though.

If anything, these can become example usecases for the next gen. Hopefully a decentralized cryptostorage chain behind it then.

Biochips are cool when reviewed like this but ask who will be getting the first implant and watch as the entire world would go silent, except those that are situationally compelled.

🙌

Me me me! :D

But I decide what I use it for LOL.

So you mean we need to implant this chip into our body through surgery in my opinion it's dangerous process and might leave our health at risk and i don't think a common man like me will do it just for storing my website passwords but ya it looks cool for rich peoples with lots of keys and passwords with this technology they don't even have to carry or remember anything means super comfort for them. Interesting Hunt

No, just needle injection. It’s barely larger than the 3 years lasting injected in the upper arm hormonal implant women can use for reproductive health.

It’s also only $130-200 + VAT depending on the model. But most batches tend to sell out within minutes only.
