Because they’re efficient like that, Germans tend to constantly improve life even outside of Feirabend time.
Designed by formstark the PostBOT autonomous post carrier is one of those innovations. Trialed already since last year, the PostBOT follows the mail carrier, relieving them from need to carry the mail.
The PostBOT can carry up to six post trays and recognizes obstacles to navigate around.
The PostBOT’s sensors track the legs of its carrier in order to know where to go, so it isn’t a fully autonomous post delivery drone yet but considering how fast technology and AI have evolved in recent years, can’t be long anymore before we see those as well.
Check out this video to see the PostBOT in action.

It's wonderful to have a post carrier robot that follows people. YouTube videos are likely to be available in cities that are mostly flat. However, the more advanced the technology is, the more it will be available on steep uphill or bumpy roads. I hope it will be introduced in Korea.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
-Signs of advancement in mail delivery
-Significantly reduce weight load of human
Cons:
-Still need a postman to guide
-Cannot climb stairs
Good point about stairs.
I don’t think the human requirement is a negative. In fact, it’s implementation of Robotics and AI the way it should be done: to assist us.
Unless, of course, you want the Singularity as our de facto future.
Hi @ fknmayhem, interesting product and hunting.
When Germans do something then it's usually done well.
Robot carrier-auxiliary postman is a great help to a postman especially when there is a bunch of consignments.
This robot follows the movements of his legs and goes after him.
Not 100% (for now) stand-alone but functional enough to increase the amount and speed of delivery - which is also a "first" purpose.
It will be in the short time, very fast and completely independent ...
Great product.
Good luck with hunting.
Cool hunt!
So it means post man don't have to carry burden, Well in the old days in my country post man use to ride to deliver posts in the city, Now a days we have some vans, but i think this technology will replace all these old mail delivery methods.
This is very interesting because it will allow little by little to automate and improve the postal service. I think it's great that this robot can make its way through obstacles and that it does not dedicate itself to follow specific routes.
In short, a robot that brings us closer and closer to the world of tomorrow, where the robots will be doing the heavy and tedious work.
Good job
Well in germany that make sens now, also armored and bulletproof probbaly

That is exactly what every country's mail system needs. A more expensive way to do business in a time where actual pieces of mail being delivered are at very low numbers and decreasing every day. I am surprised as hell that the United States Postal Service hasn't deployed these yet.
It’s a Deutsche Post DHL patent I’m guessing.
The German mail DP has trialed many new systems already, they also have ebike trials and e-trolleys.
i hope, this post bot will be all around recently because we need that bot. German have this great bot and people of German are really lucky to have this bot. technology all around is going very fast now.
thanks for this nice hunt.
